Our Management Team
Hailing from Aberdeen, Ian spent his early career as an Electronics Engineer in the Royal Air Force, but struck out on his own into the still young IT industry in 1996.
After several years as a successful independent consultant, Ian joined InterGen, where he spent over 11 years as the technical authority for their European infrastructure.
Looking for a new challenge, Ian reluctantly left InterGen in 2013, and went on to found Edinburgh Communications in February 2014.
A Cisco certified business analyst and a more recent addition to our team, Johanna has several years experience helping customers develop their business through technology.
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Johanna moved to the UK in 2004. Bilinguality, an MSc by Research, and key positions at the University of Edinburgh followed. A change of career occurred with the birth of her first child in 2015 and Johanna joined Edinburgh Communications a couple of years later.
Originally from Bromley in Kent, James spent several years as a Senior IT Engineer in the City of London before moving to Scotland in 2007.
Based in Edinburgh, he secured a networking specialist role, implementing WAN and remote access services for Bethany Christian Trust, and later on a larger scale for the Turner & Co. group.
Having developed an interest in Unified Comms and Collaboration, in 2012 James joined an IPT focused Cisco partner, IPComplete Ltd, where he met Ian, then working at InterGen. The two remained friends, and James joined us in April 2015.
An IP communications and security expert with 20 years in the industry, Graham joined us in January 2016. Born and raised in the Scottish Borders, Graham began his IT career in 1992 as a software engineer while at university in Aberdeen. On leaving university, he switched to network engineering and held several key technical positions at service providers, including Carrier1 and Tiscali UK.
A recognised Internet governance influencer, with RIPE membership and a position on the steering committee of IXScotland, Graham is the technical lead on our ISP implementation.
Joining us in late 2015, Ross has proved to be a valuable asset to the team, bringing with him over twenty years of experience in IT service delivery, and technical project management.
Holding both ITIL and PRINCE 2 certifications, Ross also brings an enviable track record with him. Beginning his technical career at Scottish Widows, Ross progressed to senior consultant roles at Basilica Computing and Computacenter, before taking up a number of service delivery and project management positions over the last 15 years, at such companies as RBS, Dell, and ECS.
